Being alone for a while made me better at being around people.
That sounds strange. You would expect that spending less time around people would make you worse at socializing. I thought so too. But after spending more than a week mostly alone, I started noticing something unexpected: I felt more confident.
Things that previously felt impossible, like approaching a girl in public, suddenly started to feel possible. Not because I had spent that time practising how to talk to people, but because spending time away from them gave me space to stop worrying so much about what they thought of me.
I wasn’t constantly filtering my words to avoid making someone angry or trying to prevent people from seeing less of me. I wasn’t performing. I was simply living my life and making my own decisions.
Somewhere in that silence, I started trusting myself more.
